What is Citizen Science?
Citizen science is science for everyone! Citizen science is when the public voluntarily helps conduct scientific research. Whether by asking questions, reporting observations, conducting experiments, or collecting data, you and other members of the public can use your talents to help advance scientific knowledge. Anyone can be a citizen scientist, regardless of where they’re from. It doesn't matter how old you are or what your background is. All it takes is some time, curiosity, and a sense of wonder!

NestWatch is a nationwide nest-monitoring program designed to track the status and trends in the reproductive biology of birds. Participating in NestWatch is easy and almost anyone can do it. The database is intended to be used to study the current condition of breeding bird populations and how they may be changing over time as a result of climate change, habitat degradation and loss, expansion of urban areas, and the introduction of non-native plants and animals. For more information please visit https://nestwatch.org/.
